This is the Respitec Medical-Care and Equipment, Inc., procedure for accepting insurance benefits for prescriptions of durable medical equipment (DME).
DME coverage is subject to the patient’s benefit plan. Patients may be responsible for paying a portion of the DME’s cost in the form of a copay/coinsurance and/or deductible. Respitec will notify the member when copays/coinsurance and/or deductibles are due.
Preauthorization may be necessary before certain services are rendered or equipment supplied. Respitec will inform the patient if a pre-authorization is required. Please note, it may take time for a pre-authorization to be processed and may cause a delay in receiving scripted items.
